HushNow privacy policy
HushNow by Kalmai · Last updated 26 October 2026
HushNow is an Android app that mutes audio ads in music apps. It is built to work on your phone, without sending what you listen to anywhere.
What stays on your phone
- What's playing. With your permission (notification access), HushNow reads the "now playing" information that Spotify, YouTube Music, Amazon Music and YouTube publish to Android (title, artist, length, play state and an ad marker) to tell when an ad starts and ends. This is processed on your phone only and is never uploaded.
- YouTube and YouTube Music screens. If you turn on HushNow's Accessibility service, it reads only the YouTube and YouTube Music screens, only to recognise ad labels and the "Skip" button, so it can mute the ad and tap Skip. It reads no other app, collects nothing it sees and sends nothing anywhere.
- Stats. Counts of ads muted and time saved are stored on your phone.
- Your music. Hush Player only reads the folders you choose. Your files never leave your phone.
What leaves your phone
- Optional sign-in. If you sign in with Google, we store your account ID, email address, name, profile picture URL and the date your free trial started with our sign-in provider Supabase (servers in Mumbai, India), so your trial and purchase follow you across phones. Using HushNow without signing in is fine.
- Purchases. The one-time unlock is processed by Google Play. Google shares the purchase status with the app; we never see your payment details.
HushNow contains no advertising, analytics or tracking SDKs, and we do not sell or share personal data. Data in transit is encrypted (HTTPS).
Deleting your data
In the app: Settings → Account → Delete account deletes your account and sign-in data immediately. You can also request deletion on the account deletion page. Uninstalling HushNow removes everything stored on your phone.
Children
HushNow is not directed at children under 13.
